Information Architecture

Before we concentrate on design elements like color, typography, and images, it's critical to nail down the website content and structure.

We'll re-evaluate your existing site map or put one together for you, solidifying what content your site should have to meet your audience's needs and accomplish your goals. Then I'll produce detailed wireframes to make sure we're on the same page before we move to the design mock-up stage.

United Nations Foundation's Health UnBound Initiative

Wireframes for a mobile version

The Work

Since the primary audience of HUB's work accesses the internet via mobile devices from remote sites in third world countries, it was critical to have a mobile version of healthunbound.org. I began by evaluating the existing content to determine the necessary page types and then produced a set of wireframes to set the direction for the design. Based on the usage stats of the web version, I geared the design for the iPhone dimensions.

My Role

The client needed really quick turnaround on this project. I had one week to produce a set of wireframes and designs for a mobile version of the entire healthunbound website, while balancing other projects.

United Nations Foundation's mHealth Alliance

Wireframes for a new website

The Work

Among other requirements, the mHealth Alliance sought a website including live feeds for various forms of content, a poll to be managed via their content management system, and a means to collect visitor email addresses.

My Role

I worked on a small team to create wireframes for this website to help connect healthcare professionals treating underserved populations in remote geographical regions.

Grocery Manufacturer's Association

Wireframes for an extensive website redesign

The Work

GMA wanted a "professional, impactful" new website that strayed from the "textbook" feel of its current site. Our work had to accommodate their existing content which was being served from their proprietary association management system and content management system, while adding new value by presenting that content in more visually appealing and accessible ways.

My Role

I worked on a small team of designers to produce an extensive set of wireframes for an upgraded version of GMA's consumer- and member-facing website.

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

Wireframes for an annual awareness month website redesign

The Work

For this year's effort, the client wanted to enable its primary audience (identified as survivors of pancreatic cancer and their family members) to share their stories in the form of a video, audio, or photo upload. The Network also wanted a more engaging presentation of possible ways to take action. In years prior, they offered an all-text list of actions, but for this year's website, I designed an interactive calendar that allows visitors to hover over any day to discover the featured action.

My Role

I was the sole information architect and designer for this website.
