Ode to DC Fences, on Blue (on canvas)

Acrylic paintings by Capitol Hill artist, Erin Malick Thompson, celebrating the unique beauty of iron fences in Washington, DC, as they reflect the sky and sunlight. Originals and prints are available, all mounted on wooden stretcher bars.

Originals measure roughly 8x8x1.5" with the edges fully painted, and the works are coated with a professional varnish for protection. Prints (8x8 or 12x12) are roughly 7/8" deep, and the artist applied professional varnish over the printed canvas to enhance the authentic look, while the edges that wrap around the stretcher bars are white canvas. 

• No. 1 features three fence finials, viewed straight-on; done with Conté for the lights and acrylic for the midtones and shadow areas
• No. 2 features one fence finial, viewed from a right angle; done with acrylic
• No. 3 features three fence finials, viewed from a left angle; done with acrylic
