Ode to DC Fences, on Blue (on canvas)
SKU:P-A005L
Acrylic and Conté* painting on canvas by Capitol Hill artist, Erin Malick Thompson, using light and shadow to depict the contours of historic iron fences in Washington, DC, while allowing the background canvas to be the midtones of the subject. Original and prints on stretched canvas are available.
Each canvas is mounted on wooden stretcher bars. The original has finished dimensions of roughly 8x8x1.375" with the edges fully painted, and the work is coated with a professional varnish for protection. Canvas prints are roughly 12x12x7/8", and the artist applied professional varnish over the printed canvas to enhance the authentic look, while the edges that wrap around the stretcher bars are white canvas. All have a sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging.
Note: frame shown here for display purposes only; you will receive an UNFRAMED canvas on stretcher bars as described above.
*Conté: a medium made of a mix of compressed charcoal or graphite and clay or wax. In this work, the white elements were drawn with Conté.
